Ferruccio Lamborghini, The founder of Lamborghinicompleted his education in the design of agricultural and industrial machinery, then joined the Italian army and worked in the Air Force.
During World War II, he worked as a mechanic in a factory, and after the war, he used the remnants of the factory’s military equipment to make tractors. But he loved fast cars and always had a dream of speed. He built a race car in 1947 by boosting the engine of a Fiat model, and in 1948 he competed in a local car.
1949 to 1963
In 1949, Ferruccio Lamborghini founded his own tractor company, Lamborghini Trattori _ Tractors. The company became Italy’s largest manufacturer of agricultural machinery in the mid-1950s. The company was also active in the production of heating and cooling ventilation systems. Do not rush, we will get to the best Lamborghini models.
1963 to 1969
In his spare time, Ferruccio disassembled the engine and other parts of his personal car, most of which were Ferrari or Maserati. He then inspected their chassis, suspension, brakes and electrification system.
In 1962, with this concept of complementary business in Lamborghini’s mind, he began to establish his own company. In May 1963, he founded the car company Ferruccio Lamborghini and bought a large plot of land in San Agatha Bologna to set up shop. Ferruccio at the time considered ultra-modern design and construction facilities alongside his office space.
Within months of opening its car dealership in 1963, Lamborghini put its team to the test. The test carried out in the form of a concept show car for the Turin Auto Show in November of that year.
After the Turin Motor Show, Ferruccio decided to build the 350 GTV, but Franco Scalione designed it. He then contacted Milan’s most famous design institute, Caruseria Turing.
During the years 1964 and 1965, Lamborghini, for the first time, received a sense of respect and appreciation from around the world and and the greats of the automotive industry paid great attention to it. After several quality reviews by American and European car magazines and newspapers, the company’s products began to attract buyers.
The Miura prototype introduced in October 1965 as a smooth chassis, becoming the world’s first supercar in just four months. You must be wondering, then what are the best Lamborghini models? Please wait!
1969 to 1970s
From 1967 to 1971, Lamborghini experimented with many different types of cars, but the Marzal concept with galvanized doors, a six-cylinder in-line engine, ample glass space, and four-seater seats was perhaps one of the strangest.
Marzal provided a test platform for future models, especially the four-seater Lamborghini Spada. The Spada has been a highlight of Lamborghini’s success, producing three variants between 1968 and 1978.
In the early 1970s, problems such as workers’ unrest in Italy, rising gas prices, and large tractor deals created tremendous stress for Lamborghini and his company. So in 1972, after eight years at the top, Ferruccio sold a 51% stake in the company to a Swiss factory owner named Georges Henry Rosetti.
The following year, he transferred the rest of his shares to his friend, René Lymeri. Therefore, the man who was the driving force behind the rise of the company forced to remove himself from the deal.
The 1970s were not a good time for automakers, and Lamborghini was on the verge of bankruptcy three times between 1974 and 1978 before eventually going bankrupt in 1978. And moment by moment we are getting closer to introducing the best Lamborghini models!
1980 to 1998
In 1980, the Swiss Mimran brothers decided to help Lamborghini, and in the mid-1980s began negotiations with the directors of the Chrysler car company. These negotiations eventually led to the annexation of Lamborghini to Chrysler in 1986.
In 1990, although Chrysler still owned Lamborghini, it succeeded in designing the Lamborghini Diabloba at a speed of 320 km / h. Although Diablo was the company’s main source of revenue for the 1990s, it was not enough to maintain the company’s viability.
In 1994, Chrysler ran into trouble at its own company. So in 1994, Lamborghini was again sold to a group of Indonesian investors. This promising change resulted in nothing but more instability for Lamborghini. It also coincided with Ferruccio’s death in Italy at the age of 76. Ferruccio died without seeing his cars regain the glory of the 1960s.
It was in 1997 that Ferdinand Pike, the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche and CEO of the Volkswagen Group, became interested in Lamborghini and got the chance to acquire Lamborghini.
1998 to present
Finally, in 1998, the Volkswagen Group bought Lamborghini for $ 110 million. The first model produced under Volkswagen’s management was the 2001 Lamborghini Murcia Lago.
This model was the first new Lamborghini design after 11 years, which had an all-wheel drive system from Audi and created space for two people, which equipped with galvanized doors and a 12-cylinder engine with a volume of 6.2 liters. The first generation of this car produced 572 hp and 649 Nm of torque.
This car was sold from 2001 to 2010 with approximately 4100 units. The Lamborghini Gallardo, smaller than the Murcia Lago, is relatively more cost-effective, with a remarkable all-wheel drive engine and has been the company’s most profitable product since its inception in 2003.
In 2003, Lamborghini sales tripled from 424 in 2002 to 1,305 in 2003; The sales share of Guiardo model was 400 cars.
The Lamborghini, introduced Aventador in 2011 to replace the Murcia Lago. The Ontador, one of the best Lamborghini models, has a carbon fiber structure with aluminum front and rear bezels.
With all these carbon fiber parts, lighter weight was expected, but the Aventador was built with a weight of not less than 1575 kg. However, this car is very fast thanks to its 700 hp 12 engine with 690 Nm of torque. This car includes 19-inch front tires and 20-inch rear tires.
Currently the most expensive car in the world is absolutely Lamborghini “Vinno”. This dream car is almost 3 times more expensive than the Bugatti Veyron. The Bugatti Veyron is considered to be the second most expensive car in the world. Even the big capitalists of the world are not easily able to buy this car.
